Not every student
likes coming back to their hometown. They often find their new city (in which
they’re studying) to be more appealing and cool. There are a lot of students
who come from villages or really tiny towns and often consider it a bit
humbling. However, I don’t. My city is called Radom. It has about 220 000 inhabitants
and it’s located about 100km away from Poland’s capital – Warsaw. I like going
back here and noticing all the changes that have taken place. I see new shops, decorations,
sculptures, bars, upcoming events, restaurants and so on. It’s pleasant to know
that your city is being developed. It has its pros and cons, like every other
place, but believe me: a few years ago I really had problems finding something
interesting in it or a good place to go with friends. But lately it changed and
Radom’s main street, Zeromskiego, is full of life, especially during summer. I
hope it’ll continue this way and we’ll soon see a lot more interesting things
here!
