So here we go
again, the second time in this season that I caught a cold. During winter
is difficult to always stay healthy. However, before reaching for popular
painkillers, which normally fight the fever, too, try something different
first.
I love treating a
cold with natural methods. They often are more beneficial to our body than
synthetic pills. My regular team of fever-fighters consists of: honey, turmeric,
garlic, so called dog rose (rosa canina)
infusion, raspberry juice and lemon. Due to the considerable concentration of vitamin
C, they can be very helpful in reducing high temperature, dealing with cough
and runny nose. They also act as natural antibiotics which kill the virus. I mix
all these things or eat the separately, e.x. I drink several cups of infusions
a day and add chopped garlic to what I eat. You are free to add other herbs and
stuff you like.
The results may not
be as fast as when taking a pill, but they do come up and your body will
definitely be grateful to you in the future. Of course, I also take pills if I
can handle no more or the pain is unbearable, but I try to start with less “heavy”
