The sad truth

source:menway.interia.pl I bet almost everyone can’t imagine themselves not using a smartphone, a computer or not watching TV just for one day. We all live surrounded by technology and it’s part of our everyday life. We use it in order to contact family and friends, check how to get to a place or order food. If we know how to use it wisely, modern technologies are not our enemy. However, lots of people gets lost in this complicated word of gadgets and electronic devices which start to take control of their lives. They can’t really have a normal conversation with their mates or spend time with a boyfriend/girlfriend without constantly writing messages. It’s dangerous and not everyone is aware of how harmful such attitude is. There even is a series about the impact of modern technologies on people and their behaviour. It’s called “Black mirror” and although the first episode was emitted in 2011, it got popularity in Poland just a few years ago. The series is available on Netfli

Why don’t you have a rest?

source: forsal.pl Nowadays people are living so fast. Every morning you can see them almost running to get to work, pupils with big school bags walking fast because they’ve overslept, old ladies going to the market in order to be the first in buying the best groceries and cars passing by with an incredible speed.  What makes all of them losing their heads? Well, the answer is pretty simple: money and obligations. All the society is used to this type of life and I’m afraid sometimes we don’t have any other option. I’m one of these “running people”. I always walk hurriedly and have a lot of things to do in my tense schedule. It’s very annoying when someone is walking slowly in front of me and I can’t get ahead. In such situations I have an impression that this person is stealing my valuable time. Of course it’s not true, but when you have a hundred things to do, every minute is priceless. However, every day I try to find a moment only for myself and I think all of us should try,

Coffee is everyone's best friend

source: https://www.darnatury.pl/blog/article/smaki-kawy-kawa-smakowa-sprawdz-jak-powstaje  If I were to name one thing without which I can’t imagine a day, it would definitely be coffee. I always start my day with breakfast and a cup of coffee with milk, no sugar. Coffee helps me start a day with energy and good mood. In the afternoon, about 3 or 4p.m., I drink a second cup of coffee. Usually, at this time I’m tired after a day in my faculty or after taking care of everything that needs to be done and coffee helps me get back on track. I love drinking that second cup of my favourite beverage in company, e.x. in a restaurant with friends or in my friend’s house. We sit comfortably on a couch and chat about our studies, our plans or about other people (of course). The coffee with my friends not only gives me a boost for the rest of the day, but it also helps me relax, even more when we choose a nice looking coffeehouse and also order a piece of a delicious cake. However, there

Here comes the money

It’s very common among students to try to obtain some extra money apart from what they get from their parents or from a student loan. They usually opt for working part time, but a major group chooses to give private lessons. If one’s good at Maths or Japanese, why they would not use these skills to make some money? Recently, I’ve also started giving lessons to others – Spanish lessons. I used to do it a few years ago but I resigned due to the lack of time. Now I feel more confident about my language skills and I’m willing to start again! However, this time I don’t give lessons via Skype as I used to do. It was so annoying... trying to make a connection using no always perfect WiFi, constantly having to remember my pupils about transfering me the money... I prefer face to face lessons. You can clearly see if someone is interested in what you are saying to them, if they need any further explanation. What is more, they pay in cash, which is the best part. I think this type of “work” i

Zero waste in the kitchen

source: WP kuchnia   I really like cooking. It always makes me relax and lets me forget about any problems for a while. However, I hate throwing away food and I always try to do everything so as to avoid it. Here are some of my tips how to do it: Normally, I tend to prepare bigger portions for two days or freeze food for later if there is something left. What is more, there are many ways to use as much of food you bought as possible. For instance, when I buy radish, I eat it in sandwiches and use its leaves to make a delicious pesto. Thanks to it, I kill two birds with one stone.  If fruits have been left for too long and they don't look good but still are ok to eat, you can make a smoothie with them.  After cooking a soup, I take the vegetables of it and make a vegetal pâté .  When I know I won’t be able to eat something (ex. because I leave the next day), I give the food away. My friend is always willing to take it. If she’s not, there are groups on social med
